2 stars for Alone (The Girl in the Box Book 1) by Robert J. Crane.
Alone is an entertaining and decently well written Young Adult sci-fic fantasy, but it lacks originality and is too predictable. The story starts out promising but frizzles out along the way as the female lead character traps herself in circles, running between the Directorate and what used to be home.
Though I finish reading the entire book, I am not sure if I like the ending, which seems a compilation of sorts, yet lacking the grasp in understanding of the construction. There is potential for improvement in subsequent books in the series, so I may strive on. Perhaps..
