Review: Iron Kissed (Mercy Thompson #3) by Patricia Briggs
4.5 stars for Iron Kissed (Mercy Thompson Book 3) by Patricia Briggs.
The Mercedes Thompson series just keep getting better and better, with each sequel outdoing the previous and exceeding expectations. I am utterly hooked on this book 3 and practically living it.
While book 1 Moon Called focuses on werewolf and book 2 Blood Bound concentrates on vampires, Iron Kissed, the third instalment in the series emphasizes alot more on the fae. In my opinion, the book title is very well chosen as according to folklore, a true blue fae cannot withstand iron.
Much as the story revolves around the fae, Mercy's family and especially a particular male family member, play a major role in the world building of this riveting work of fiction. Likewise, there are moments where various strong emotions all come into play; jealousy, anger, regret, guilt; and they serve to make a great intense rollercoaster ride.
All in all, it is a tremendous joy to read Iron Kissed and I look very much forward to reading the next book in the series to uncover whatever surprises it has installed for its fans.
